Last Minute Gift for Dad - EASY & Save on Gas

Yep, you guessed it - Head to Kroger and get a giftcard for good 'ol dad!  Yesterday I was at Kroger with my daughter to pick up a giftcard for my hubby... but before leaving, my daughter and I collaborated and realized we had other shopping to do around town... This is what we ended up getting and saving on gas:

Brian - $50 gc for Bass Pro (Father's Day)
Me - $50 gc for Bass Pro (happy birthday to me, lol)
Me - $50 gc to Shell gas station
Me - $25 gc to Sephora
Brooke - $50 gc to Sephora (she paid for it, but I got the gas benefits!)
For neice's bday - $75 gc to Toys R Us
Lunch for Father's Day & my birthday - $25 gc to Spaghetti Warehouse (hubby eats free since it's father's day)

Total Spent: $325 = 1,300 Fuel Points
Plus 50 Fuel Points I had already accumulated from normal shopping

Brian went to put (diesel) gas in his truck that night.  Normally it costs about $100  to fill his tank - last night it only cost him $40!!  WOO HOO!!

I Paid $2.69/gallon of Gas!

Woo-hoo!  My hubby's truck is a gas guzzler that's why I was so excited to only pay $2.69/gallon of gas recently!  You can get this great deal, too, by using Kroger's 4x Points gift card deal!  The 4x Fuel Points deal runs through June 19th... and right now Kroger is doubling what they will allow you to use!  It used to be that you could use a maximum of 1,000 points ($1 off/gallon)... but right now they are allowing you to use 2,000 fuel points ($2 off/gallon)!!!

This is what I did:

I bought these gift cards at Kroger recently:

$100 gift card to Shell Gas Station to fill hubby's truck = 400 points (40¢ off per gallon)
$25 gift card to Target for catfood and dogfood = 100 points (10¢ off per gallon) 

Total Points: 500 points  Total Savings: 50¢ off per gallon of gas!

In Bartlett, Kroger's gas was $3.19/gallon
Use 50¢/gallon rewards
Final Price: $2.69/gallon

Save on Gas! Kroger Fuel Points is 4x wyb Gift Cards!

I LOVE when Kroger runs the 4x fuel points on gift cards promotion, because I can save BIG at the gas pump!  May 20-June 16 you can save on gas, too!  Here is the 4-1-1:

How do I earn fuel points?There are three ways to earn points in Kroger stores:
1. Spending on Groceries (normal exclusions apply): $1 in Groceries = 1 Point
2. Non-federally funded Prescriptions: 1 Prescription = 50 Points
3. Double Gift Card Points (normal exclusions apply) for example, $50 in Gift Cards = 100 Points
**Excluded gift cards are:  Kroger Gift Cards, Green Dot cards, MoneyPaks and 1-2-3 REWARDS® Visa prepaid Debit Card and ReCharge Card.

How do I earn  4x the fuel points?
For every dollar you spend on purchasing gift cards at Kroger you get 4 points.

Can I buy a Kroger gift card, get 4 times the fuel points, and then use the gift card to buy my groceries?
NO.   Kroger Gift Cards, Green Dot cards, MoneyPaks and 1-2-3 REWARDS® Visa prepaid Debit Card and ReCharge Card are all excluded from the gift card fuel points program.

I do not have any reason/money to buy a gift card right now, so what is the point?
You might be surprised at how creative you can get when saving money is the prize!  Consider these reasons to buy a gift card:

• Are you planning to eat out this week?  If so, buy a gift card for that restaurant at Kroger first; you can get the fuel points AND eat out!
• Does your car need an oil change?  If you get yours done at Jiffy Lube, you are in luck!  Kroger sells Jiffy Lube gift cards, too!!
• Do you do your grocery shopping at Kroger, and your household shopping at Target?  Well alright!  Kroger has Target gift cards!!  Grab a Target gift card at Kroger when you get your groceries.  Then you can use it later when you go to Target!
