School of Rock - Wolfchase Now Open & Grand Opening!

Have you or your kids thought about taking music lessons? My family was so excited to hear the School of Rock finally opened their Wolfchase location. Our daughter started taking drum lessons there and has been so excited. We love how many options they offer and the opportunity to play with a group and interact with other instruments.

Thinking about taking lessons but not sure if you will like it? School of Rock offers a Free Trial Class with no commitments.

The School of Rock-Wolfchase is holding a Grand Opening Saturday, September 7th from 12pm-5pm. There will be Free Food, Live Performances, Tour the Studio, Meet the Teachers, discounts and more.

THE PATH TO TAKE THE STAGE
All of our music programs are designed to inspire students to learn and develop a strong musical proficiency. At School of Rock Wolfchase, younger students who are not ready for a more comprehensive program like Rock 101 can start in Rookies. Additionally, students who have completed the Little Wing program will progress into the Rookies music program. No prior musical experience is needed for Rookies. Once your child is ready for private music lessons (typically older than first or second graders), they will graduate into our Rock 101 program.

Bargain Hunt Now Open in Cordova: LOTS of BABY PRODUCTS

I (Jessica) am so excited to announce that Bargain Hunt is now open in Cordova. Located at Trinity and Germantown Parkway next to TJ Mulligans. You will find items from every department at awesome prices. Check out their website here and see pictures here. I stopped by today to see what they had and was amazed at all of the great deals they had. My favorite part was the baby section. If you are looking for diapers they were low as $.14 ea. They even had Boppy pillows for $14!

Starting tomorrow 7/10, most of the items will be 10% off. Each item has a price tag with a date on it. For every 30 days the item remains in the store, an extra 10% will be taken off (example: an item that has been there since 3/10/12 would be 90% off!!)

*Note from Dawn: I also stopped by there tonight... boy was I surprised at how HUGE it is!  I only had about 20 minutes to look around, so I will certainly be going back.  My husband got an Abu Garcia fishing reel 1/2 off!  And it was a high quality one, too!  I loved seeing my favorite cooking brands there like All Clad and Calphalon!

Reusable Cups & Drink Refill Deals at Newk's and McAlister's

I (Jessica) just found out from a couple of friends that at Newk’s Café, you can bring your Newk’s plastic cup back in for a refill and only pay $.99. You do not have to make another purchase with it. Also, at McAlister’s Deli they just started selling refillable tumblers for $10 and you can bring in for a refill with any beverage for $.99 until August.

Memphis Best Kept Secrets: Local Book/Gift Stores inside Churches

Did you know that several churches in the Memphis area have Book/Gift stores inside?  Some even have libraries - and some allow non-members to use their library! 

I was recently at just such a bookstore: The Bookmark, located inside the front door of Second Presbyterian Church.  In addition to a great selection of books, they have an AMAZING line of gift items for all occassions (did you know next week is Teacher Appreciation Week?)!  The fun thing about shopping in these lesser-known stores is that you can almost guarentee that what ever gift you buy, the recipient is not likely to get a duplicate gift.  Of course, as avid 'savers', sometimes the bottom line is 'price'.  You can bet these little shop's prices are very competitive - and a lot of times cheaper!

For fun, I took some pics around the store (with the store manager's permission).  Here's a nugget of what you can find atTthe Bookmark:
