Felicia Suzanne's Gift Box Review & Valentine's Day Gift Idea!

Looking for a last minute Valentine's Day gift idea? Check out the wonderful Flo's Gift Box from Felicia Suzanne's restaurant. The gift box includes a jar of Flo's Pepper Jelly, Tomato Jam, Chow Chow, and a Felicia Suzanne's apron. This would be a great way to surprise your significant other with adding a gift card and dining at Felicia Suzanne's for Valentine's Day.

Thanks to Felicia Suzanne's, we were given a gift box to try. Let's just say the jams have been on our table every weekend to go with our biscuits. The apron was a great addition as well.

You can purchase the box of four and individual jars at Felicia Suzanne’s or at the restaurant’s website. The gift box is $45, and individual jar pricing ranges from $8-10.

A Good Time to Restock or Start a Gift Closet

Example of a Gift Closet

The after-Christmas and January Inventory sales are a great time to restock your gift closet!  If you’ve never heard of a gift closet before, the idea is to buy gift-worthy items (at cheap prices) throughout the year and store them in a designated closet.  Then, when a gift-giving occasion comes up (sometimes unexpectedly) you’ll have a nice stock of gifts ready for the wrapping!  My friend has a gift closet which she uses to give ‘happies’ (as she calls them) to others as an “I’m thinking of you” or as a “thank you”.  Don’t have a spare closet?  How about a Gift Tub? Dawn has a gift closet, Shana has 2 huge boxes in her garage and she keeps an excel sheet of what is in the box. One box is for her kiddos (I buy for their b-day and up-coming Christmas all year long).

Here are some ideas for your gift closet: Candles, Glycerin soaps,  Manicure/Pedicure items, Stationary and note pads, Chocolate dipped spoons for hot drinks, Coffee mugs, Decorative wine glasses or bottle stoppers, Potpourri, Picture frames, Devotionals, Relaxation CD, Magnets, Makeup brushes, Olive oil in a pretty glass jar w/spice mix for making dipping oil

And don’t forget to keep things for kids, too:  Games & cards, Stuffed animals, Bubble bath kits or special sponges, Diary, Lip balms, Coffee Mugs w/hot cocoa packets, Stickers and ink stamps, Special pens, pencils, or markers, Jewelry, Devotionals, Coloring book and crayons

Do you have a "gift spot" or ideas on this topic? Please share!!

Framed Name-Letter Art only $60

Looking for the perfect Father's Day gift, or gift for another special occasion, well check these out: for $60, you get three to eleven letters of photographic name art (a $159.90 value) from Hal Jaffe Name Art, a local studio that ships nationally. Both tax and shipping are included in the value of today’s Groupon.

Hal Jaffe is a second-generation photographer and a Memphis native. His letter art stems from a photography collection of natural and structural objects that resemble letters, from a park swing that looks like a U to a bend in a shoreline that resembles an R. By simply typing a name into the form on Jaffe’s website, you’ll be given options for spelling out the moniker of your choosing using a wide variety of letter-looking images. Once hand-selected, the images are printed on high-quality paper mocked up to look like a double-bevel mat.

Gift Idea for Gift Cards

Instead of Mom's kitchen tip, I thought I would share a great idea for giving gift cards. I won this at an event I was at last night and think it is the cutest idea for giving someone gift cards. I love to give gift cards to people but sometimes I think that I am not being creative enough by simply just sticking it in a card, well isn't this fantastic. I think this would make a great group gift to a teacher, or maybe for a graduate (different places that will be in their college town), or even for that hard to buy for Dad for Father's day (hardware store, movie tickets, buy some Redbird tickets and stick them in). Anyway had to post this, if you have any creative gift ideas do share them with us we greatly appreciate it!!

Smithfield Menu Planner

Just more great ideas. I used to love to cook, but it seems like now days I became accustomed to the same routine with the same menu items and it just isn't as fun as it used to be. During all the searches on websites that I do I came across a menu planner on Smithfields website. Here is a preview of what I received this week...it's sent as a PDF file with the recipes and the grocery list. Most important it's FREE.

MONDAY
Roasted Chicken and Vegetables with Buttermilk Grits
TUESDAY
Cream Cheese Taco Pie with Vegetable Salad
WEDNESDAY
Linguini with Asparagus, Blue Cheese and Sautéed Walnuts
THURSDAY
Meatball Kabobs with Vegetable Hash Browns
FRIDAY
Stuffed Pork Chops with Savannah Red Rice

Everyone has different taste, but some of these sounded pretty good and new to me. This is what my plan is. Take the grocery list that is sent and start marking what items I have or what I need to stock up on and then associate with coupons and sales. This does take some planning and time, but I figure it's worth the time when you can save money. If you have any questions, let me know. I may try to post one of the recipes and associate some coupon with it, if I get time and shown interest.

Don't forget to you could learn alot of ideas by joining me as I host a workshop on Sat.

Gift Idea For Almost Nothing!

My sister-in-law each year for gifts always adds a "personal touch", those to me that mean the most. At Michaels you can pick up small calendars for 2010 in the $1.00 bin or mouse pads and insert your favorite pictures in it. The calendars have a different theme border for each month and I love these!!!! It's even nicer when someone does it for you as a gift. Two great and affordable sites to have your pictures downloaded and sent to you is Snapfish and Kodak.

To even make this a sweeter deal, I just signed up for Michaels newsletter and received a instant 40% off coupon for any one regular price item. I'd assume this coupon would apply.
