TERRACYCLE GIVEAWAY

Links provided in this post may be from affiliate programs which earns My Memphis Mommy a small commission. Thanks for clicking!

Congratulations to TerraCycle Drink Pouch Brigrade Progam they have save 50 million pouches from being put in landfills and contributed a MILLION dollars to schools and non-profits!!

The Capri Sun beverage brand was one of the earliest supporters of TerraCycle, a company that collects would-be trash and turns it into useful items. The collection program, called the Drink Pouch Brigade, takes place mostly in schools, where children choose to deposit used pouches in special receptacles rather than throw them away. In participating schools, each used drink pouch collected and sent to TerraCycle earns two cents, with the funds going toward needed educational programs and resources. Does your school participate in this program, let us know?
Together, students and teachers at over 30,000 schools nation wide have collected 50 million drink pouches for the program over the past two years resulting in the 1 million dollars milestone donation! AMAZING!!!

In celebration of this milestone TerraCycle is giving one lucky Memphis Mommy Reader a bag as pictured above! How cool is that? For this giveaway we would love to hear your recycling, reusing tips and ideas in how you involve your family. Keep a look out during this giveaway for reusable crafts and tips coming your way!

We love to reuse our old toilet paper rolls, cereal boxes (they make a great paint pallet for craft projects), and any other items we can think of for crafts. We make some fun and fabulous crafts with them and then we recycle them after that. It is a win-win for us!

we recycle by saving all cans, crushing them & then turning them in to a recycling machine for some money :) we also pull all the tabs off before we take them to give to the Ronald McDonald House.

Hi! Take the extra plastic bags you have and use as packing material when sending heavy objects or fragile objects in a box to send. Really fills in the gaps in the box. :)

I like to take potato chip bags and once I've finished them. Cut them up and make book covers out of them for college classes. I love the reaction I get from class mates. And the Why Didn't I think of that remarks!

Save water put a bucket in your shower and use it to flush the tolet, water your plants, wash some dishes, wash your car, wash your clothes, mop the floors, and if it is the clean water from when you are waiting for the shower to warm up you can drink it or give it to your pets.

We LOVE to recycle as a family. We recycle by using the curb side bins for our plastics, cans, newspapers and boxes. We also sale our coke cans and put the money in our grand-daughters piggy banks.

We use plastic bottle lids for game pieces. We make gift bags and bows out of junk mail. I poke holes in the lid of milk jugs and fill them with water as watering cans.

I use cloth diapers and cloth wipes, both to save our family a ton of money and to reduce waste. It's super easy to do, and fun (all the different colors, designs, etc.) and I LOVE it!

We also make our contribution by recycling old appliances and cans. We have made crafts by using egg cartons and things of that sort. At one time I can remember makeing those sacks from the six pack plastic thingies. thanks.

I use old newspapers from home in my classroom for various instructional reasons (reading centers, activities in all subject areas, to protect desks during art projects, etc.). After using them in my class, they are placed in the recycling bin.
I also use old socks and t-shirts as dry erase board erasers.

I donate the drink trays you get at fast food restaurants and soda pop caps to our local daycare for crafts projects for the kids.

For any of you who drink coffee...the white plastic "milk jug type" coffee creamer....peel the label off the jug....use your craft scraps and decorate it like a snowman. Great craft for children and you are recycling.
