I (Shana) have never used Angel Food but have been hearing alot about it from our readers, so we thought we post some info on it. This church based food ministry is now in over 40 churches in the Memphis area. Here is the info we have found, let us know if you have ever purchased a Angel Food box and your thoughts on it.

ABOUT THE FOOD

Each month's menu is different and consists of fresh, frozen and packaged food. Angel Food is purchased from the nation’s top food suppliers. Providing quality, nutritious food at significant discounts on a regular basis is one practical way to give people a “hand up” during difficult times. The cost for a box (approximate value of $65) of Angel Food is $30. There is no purchase limit for boxes of Angel Food. There are no applications or qualifications necessary to purchase. ABOUT THE VALUE
Comparison shopping nationwide in various grocery stores has revealed that the average retail value for the same food items would be approximately $65. Generally, one box of Angel Food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month.

ABOUT SPECIALITY BOXES
Each month, Angel Food Ministries also offers “specialty boxes” of steak, chicken, pork or other foods. This bonus program affords participants additional food choices at a great value. There is no purchase limit for specialty boxes or bonus foods. There are no applications or qualifications necessary to purchase. I am very impressed to see they offer an "allergen free" box. PURCHASING ANGEL FOOD
There are no restrictions, conditions or forms to fill out to purchase Angel Food. The food relief program is open to one and all. Anyone may purchase an unlimited number of boxes of Angel Food by placing an order with a local Angel Food host site. FIND A LOCAL HOST SITE NOW. I have been told that most sites have a donation box where you can leave unwanted items for others, sounds like a great program.

We did purchase it. Before I started couponing seriously the Angel Food Box is a great value and you cannot beat the food quality. Now that I do coupon I can buy the same food for cheaper on sale. So if you are not a couponer it is definitely a good value for your money! Just remember each box is 1 week so to last a month exclusively you would need 4!
Thanks!

We have purchased Angel Food in the past, and it is quite good. We also got a produce box, and the quality and size of the produce was excellent!
