Ways to Save Without Double Coupons

If you have not heard the news yet, the Memphis based Kroger "delta region" will no longer offer double coupons starting July 10th, 2013. I know this is a big bummer for many readers including myself. However, the deals will still be out there just many of the "FREE" items we are used to getting will be a little more rare to come by. After talking with several of our moms in the My City Mommy Network, it seems saving our families money without double coupons won't be as bad as we think. Of course change is always hard but that is why I am here to help make the transition easier for all and still help you save your family at least 50% off grocery and household goods and more.

Here are just a few ways to save the most:

1. Try to only buy what is on sale and look for manufacturer coupons to go with the sale items.

2. Follow the My Memphis Mommy site for weekly match ups. I personally go into Kroger when a new Mega Event is out and get all the inclusions and prices to make planning your shopping trip a little easier.

3. Take advantage of Kroger gift card deals when they offer 4X Fuel points. When Kroger offers 4X Fuel points, especially if I am headed to a store like Target, I stop in and buy a gift card and earn my fuel points then I go and spend the gift card at Target using my coupons to save even more.

4. Save up to $1.00 per gallon with your Kroger fuel rewards.

5. Keep an eye out for FREE product Kroger e-coupons on Friday's.

6. Shop at stores like Aldi for produce deals

7. Shop stores like Walgreens and CVS who offer their own rewards program.

8. "Like" your favorite brands on Facebook to get up to date high value coupons.

9. Sign up for your favorite brands emails. High value coupons are usually sent to email subscribers. (you can always open a new email for this).

10. Follow My Memphis Mommy on Facebook and Twitter and Subscribe to the daily email for up to date daily deals, giveaways, store match ups & more.

11. Shop using rebate sites (Ebates, Shop at Home or Mr. Rebates). Many retail stores now offer Free In-Store pick up when shopping online. With rebate sites, you can earn a percentage of cash back and receive a check within a couple of months. This is one of my favorite things to do. Example: We bought a new washer and dryer for Christmas. I used Shop At Home who was offering 6% cash back and was able to get $150 back just by buying online and chose Free In-Store pick up which you can also get Free shipping on most large appliances.

12. Take advantage of app programs (shopkicks:earn points to redeem on gifts and gift cards, ibotta: earn cash on items you buy, Target cartwheel: receive extra discounts on top of Target store coupons and manufacturer coupons and Viggle: earn points for watching select TV shows and answering trivia questions and can redeem for gift cards and gifts.)
