Well looks like we are getting the news we have not wanted to hear for a while. Effective July 10, 2013, Kroger will no longer double coupons. I will be getting a post together soon on how other couponers have been saving without double coupons.

Here is what Kroger posted on their Facebook page:

In an effort to provide you with the most value for your dollar, we are updating our coupon policy and implementing a New Lower Prices program. Effective July 10, 2013, we are discontinuing our practice of doubling (up to 50 cents) manufacturer coupons in the Delta region. We will continue to accept manufacturer coupons and other coupons at face value, including: digital coupons, e-coupons, Catalina coupons and printables. We will also be investing additional resources into lowering prices for our customers on everyday items. We understand that this is a significant change. We hope that you come and see our new low prices – as well as the many other ways to save -- for yourself.
• Downloadable, clip-free coupons daily on www.kroger.com
• Special sales events such as Mega Event and Cart Busters
• Fuel savings program that offers up to $1 off per gallon at Kroger Fuel Centers
• 10¢ off per gallon gas savings opportunity at participating Shell stations
• Loyal Customer Mailings containing customized coupons.
• $4/$10 generic drug pricing (see Pharmacy for details)

I am curious to hear what other couponers are going to do in the area. I need some advice. :(

I will not be shopping at my Krogers any more unless they have a great mega deal. They better hope they really go down on the prices because without doubling they are too high. And I would LOVE to know how everyone makes it without doubling. We only have one store left now and they are outrageous. Piggly Wiggly here doubles to .50c. It used to be .60c. And that already went down. I would love your input from others. Thank you for this website. First timer and love it!

had to know it would happen soon, especially after Schnucks left. They just don't have to be as competitive. I wish we would have another chain come in, someone like Publix, so they would have a run for the money.

This news CHEWS ROCKS!!! Ugh! I'm so upset. I left wal-mart alone and became pretty loyal to Kroger in the past year. Just this past week, I was able to get 5 free boxes of baby wipes for pregnant friends, thanks to doubling. I guess I'll hightail it back to wal-mart and just price match Kroger's low prices, if they are lower.

Kroger will lower their prices for a while and then they will slowly go back up. I really wish another store would come to town!
