Review: Clorox 2 Stain Fighter & Color Booster with NEW TripleSolve Technology

Clorox has just upped the ante in the fight against stains, which is good news for Memphis parents!  Prior to moving to Memphis, my children could wear anything they wanted to school… now it is strictly khaki pants and white polos; thus a love affair with Clorox was born.  I always have 2 Clorox bleach pens on hand, and so I was super excited when Clorox contacted me to see if I would try their Clorox 2 Stain Fighter & Color Booster with NEW TripleSolve Technology!  I’ve successfully kept the whites white, but the khakis have been another story.  I’m pleased to report that so far, so good.  Clorox 2 with Triple Solve Technology is available in a liquid formula, a pack formula, and a powder formula.

Clorox 2 with TripleSolve Technology is doing what they said it would do (granted, I’ve only used it once).  Here are some details from Clorox about this new product:

Clorox 2 Triple Solve Technology works better than detergent alone on:

·        Removing grass stains and maintaining your kids’ clothes after every day of play

·        Keeping your dark denim looking newer longer so your favorite pair of jeans will stay your favorite

·        Eradicating tough stains and invisible body oils to keep your gym clothes looking like a champion.

*Pretreat for best results

Clorox supplied me with a sample of their products, but the opinions are 100% mine.

Recipe of the Day: Tex-Mex Chicken Casserole

Links provided in this post may be from affiliate programs which earns My Memphis Mommy a small commission. Thanks for clicking!

In this zesty twist on the standard chicken casserole, penne is tossed with cooked chicken, corn, black beans, tomatoes and green salsa and topped with plenty of cheese. Add fresh cilantro and homemade tortilla wedges for the finishing touch. Another perk? Bake straight from the freezer, and sit down to a hot, home-cooked meal any night of the week.

Serves 4-6
Prep time: 15 minutes
Bake time: 30 minutes
INGREDIENTS
Cooking spray
2 cups (16 ounces) penne pasta, cooked according to package directions
2 cups chicken, cooked and chopped
1 can (14 1/2 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (14 1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, with juice
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 jar (16 ounces) salsa verde
3/4 cup sour cream
1 cup Kraft® Shredded Pepper Jack cheese
1/2 cup Kraft® Shredded Mexican Blend cheese*
Lightly crushed tortilla chips (see recipe below)
1/4 cup cilantro, finely chopped
*Tip: Feel free to substitute more Mexican Blend cheese or Kraft Shredded Cheddar Cheese if Pepper Jack is too spicy.
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a 9x13” baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Place cooked pasta, chicken, black beans, tomatoes and corn in prepared dish. Season with salt and pepper, then toss to mix.
  3. In another bowl, combine the salsa and sour cream. Pour evenly over chicken mixture. Sprinkle evenly with Kraft shredded cheeses, then cover with foil and bake 15 minutes.*
  4. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Sprinkle with crushed tortilla chips and chopped cilantro. Serve using a slotted spoon.
*Tip: To prevent the cheese from sticking to the foil, spray it with cooking spray before placing over casserole.
Freezing tip: Assemble the casserole, but don’t garnish it. Securely double-wrap in foil and freeze for up to one month. Bake the frozen casserole, still wrapped, for 30 minutes in a preheated oven. Remove foil and bake 20-25 minutes more. Garnish before serving.

Review: Bubble Guppies DVD

Links provided in this post may be from affiliate programs which earns My Memphis Mommy a small commission. Thanks for clicking!

Have you heard of Bubble Guppies, Nickelodeon’s newest educational series for preschoolers?   It closed 2011 as the top preschool series across all TV with kids 2-5.  I do not have children this young, but I did daycare for 0-5yr olds for over 10 years; the topic of children’s educational tools still interests me a great deal.  This is what Nickelodeon says about their hit series, Bubble Guppies:

The vibrant 3D underwater world of a group of diverse preschoolers with colorful fish tails is set to a soundtrack of catchy pop songs and infuses the core elements of kindergarten readiness: math, literacy, the arts, science, and socio-emotional development.

These are all critical elements in a child’s young life.  Now-a-days, schools want children entering kindergarten to already be able to write their names, know their alphabet, have some (very) basic reading skills, know how to use scissors, and know their numbers up to at least 10 (last time I heard).  This really isn’t a farfetched request with today’s explosion of preschools, pre-k, and adults taking new interest in their children’s educational development.  If you’re going to allow your children to watch TV it might as well be something that is both enjoyable and educational like Bubble Guppies.

Nickelodeon provided me with a sample of their product, but the opinions expressed are 100% mine.
