Great trip to Kroger. Not sure what is still left and what others stores have but the Christmas stuff including toys were 90% off at Kroger in Southaven.

 

I got those little angry birds stuffed toys taht are normally $11.99 for $1.20

 

Fleecestar wars lego PJs that are retail $15.00 on clearance for $1.50

 

Cars 2 metal small cars $3.99 on clearnace for .40

 

T shirts (toy story, monster truck, dinosaur train, thomas) Retail $ 8.00 got them for $.80!!

 

Lunchable with fruit Manager's special $1.79 used .50 coupon which doubled. Payed .79

 

Hostess donuts (devils food) $2.19 used the printable .50 coupon which doubled. Payed $1.19

Recipe of the Day: OREO Cupcakes!!

YUM!!!  How delicious do these OREO Cupcakes look???  This recipe came from Kraft Food & Family Recipes: Best of 2011.  Here's the recipe:

OREO Cupcakes

24 OREO Cookies

1 pkg.  (2-layer size) chocolate cake mix (with ingredients to make the cake)

2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

 
PLACE 1 cookie in each of 24 paper-lined muffin cups. Prepare cake batter as directed on package; spoon over cookies. Bake cupcakes as directed on package. Cool in pans 5 min.; remove to wire racks. Cool completely.
REMOVE paper liners; cut cupcakes horizontally in half.
FILL with COOL WHIP. Serve cookie-sides up.

Note

These cupcakes are served upside-down so the cookies show on top. If the cupcake tops are rounded, trim off the tops before using to assemble desserts as directed.

How to Store

Keep filled cupcakes refrigerated.

Kroger Finds: 32 Oz. Pacific Free Range Chicken Broth $1.29

Alison Michaud is rocking the Manager's specials at Kroger @ Houston Levee & Poplar in Collierville, here is what she found:

 

32 oz cartons of Pacific Free Range Chicken Broth 1.29 (They also had Beef Broth)

Pacific 12oz single serve soups 1.39 - a variety of flavors

Cadbury bar 3.5 oz .59

 

This location still has lots of Marie Callendars 2 packs of frozen pie crusts for .91, Cool Whip for .47,  and Kroger brand 2 packs of pie crusts for .62 in the frozen food open cases near the ice cream case.

Free iphone App: Mobisave

Awesome reader Tina Martin explained a new iphone app she has discovered, I know nothing about iphones so I am SUPER grateful that Tina e-mailed me this info and the above image of her phone! She is now entered into the "shopping find" contest, I know I know this is not a shopping find exactly but in my book it counts ;0)

iPhone app Tina uses is called mobisave

You select coupon offers and after you buy the product, you scan your receipt and they credit your paypal account.  This is in addition to manufacturers coupons.  I downloaded the app Friday.  I selected Bumble Bee Tuna as one of my offers and it was for $1.  I bought 6 cans for .59 each at CVS on Sunday and scanned my receipt when I came home.  I jest checked my paypal account and I they credited me $1 yesterday.  The app is free but is only for iPhone.  I put it on my ipad first, but it wouldn't let me scan receipts without an iPhone, so I added the app to my hubby's phone.  It didn't take but a minute to take photos of my receipt.  I think there are 53 coupons available right now, all offers are for $1 back.  I didn't have to give them personal info other than my email so they could credit my paypal account.  You have to select the offer before you make the purchase.  The offer was only good for 1 can of my tuna, but after I used it I was able to add it back to my list.   I am going back to CVS to get some more free tuna.
