You must purchase a fishing license to fish in any U.S. state, and each state has their own license to be purchased. Living in the corner of three states makes fishing a little more costly for Memphians. Well, if you like to fish, here is some good news: You can fish for FREE in each state's public waters without a license on each state's FREE fishing day! Here are the dates you can fish for free in Tn, Ar, and Ms:
Tennessee: June 9th for adults; children ages 13-15 may fish without a license beginning on Free Fishing Day through the following Friday, June 15.
Arkansas: Noon on Friday, June 8th - Midnight on Sunday, June 10th
Mississippi: Anyone may fish along the Gulf Coast on July 4th each year in waters south of I-10 without a saltwater fishing license.
