Recipe: Betty Crocker Spinach-Cheese Balls

It's 2 o'clock and that means it's time for the recipe of the day!  This recipe, from Betty Crocker's Best of 2011, looks absolutely divine!  If you make it, post on Facebook what you thought of it!  The Betty Crocker website has several other recipes worth trying, and if you like entering contests you might consider entering to win the $100 gift certificate to Betty Crocker's online store while your at their site.  If you enter and win let us know!!  So without further ado...

Spinach-Cheese Balls

1

box (9 oz) frozen spinach, thawed, squeezed to drain

1

cup Original Bisquick® mix

2

cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz)

1

egg

2

teaspoons Italian seasoning

1

teaspoon garlic salt

1

cup tomato pasta sauce, if desired 

 

Heat oven to 400°F. Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray. In  large bowl, mix all ingredients, except pasta sauce. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls; place on cookie sheet.
Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from pan. Serve with pasta sauce.  Makes 30 cheese balls

I (Dawn), have found some great deals on tigerdirect.com.  Recently I purchased the Transcend 2gb SD memory card for my camera.  Tiger Direct did not charge my bank account until after the product was delivered to me, and I must say that I am not only happy with the product itself, but that I am also quite impressed with the way Tiger Direct handled my business.  You can get this same SD card for your camera for only $5.99 - a friend of mine just saw a 2gb SD card at Walgreens for $20!!  Right now you can also catch a bunch of year-end closeout deals on laptops, too!  Tiger Direct sells both new and refurbished items, so be mindful of that - they do disclose this information in the description of each product they sell.

Shana's Kroger Find: 11 Pound Butterball Turkey $3.00

I went to Kroger yesterday to buy a Leg of Lamb and cereal (yes nice combo) and a ham (for my parents who are coming to visit as they are not lamb eaters). The Leg Of Lamb was regular price $45, yes seriously, and the Manger's special had it down to $24 which was still hard for me to pay but off I went to get it!  I decided to check out the FRESH BUTTERBALL TURKEY selection one last time as my $2.00 off FRESH BUTTERBALL TURKEY printable coupon was expiring today 12/31.

They had the Fresh Turkeys marked down to $11.00 and I though $9.00 would not be a bad price for the turkey. BUT WHEN I CHECKED OUT IT RANG UP AT $5.00 I questioned this, as I wanted to be fair and the manager came over and said they were getting rid of the Fresh Turkeys for $5.00 this was at Macon/Houston Levee Kroger! So I used my $2.00 coupon and got a 11 pound Fresh Butterball Turkey for 3 BUCKS!!!

I had forgotten my cereal coupon ;0( so I only walked away with A full turkey, full ham, and full leg of lamb, Mark laughed really hard when I came in with that much meat and can you guess his New Year's resolution: He resolves that we will decide on the freezer we want and purchase it! He was not planning on baking a turkey last night but hey to good of a deal to pass up!
