Hi My Memphis Mommy Readers!! I will not be on today as it is finally here the St. Jude MARATHON WEEKEND!! Thanks so much for your support. I reached the $500 min. but still have a ways to my goal they are excepting donations till January 2nd here is my link. They have raised $3.8 so far from the Memphis Marathon fund-raising efforts which is a HUGE amount a money however considering the DAILY operating costs is $2.4 this amount does not even cover 2 days wow!

Have a GREAT RUN or WALK to all of you who are participating! And a special prayer for any of you who have a family member as a patient, I will especially be thinking of you as I run through the campus!!!

Dangers of Lithium Batteries

Our sweet baby girl is approaching 6 months and she is in the put everything in her mouth stage! With our first child we completely had ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that could possibly cause any injury to her completely away from her. Let's face it with 2 big sisters we have so many small items, crayons, tiny toys you name it, it is all over our house! Did you know that in 2010, more than 3,400 button batteries were reportedly swallowed by small children.

I'm not going to lie to you, I don't like sponsored posts. I refuse to post ANYTHING unless it's relevant to you guys and I will always be straight up with you! Honestly I wasn't sure I wanted to post this but then I watched this video. I had no idea just how dangerous Lithium Button Batteries could be. After watching this video though I realize that my sweet 6 year old could be in danger too as she still on occasion for whatever reason sticks thing in her mouth it is just how she is wired.

The batteries they are talking about are the little button batteries found in tons of items in your home. Items like flameless candles, remote controls, key fobs, baby books, scales, you name it, you’ll find them. Coin lithium button batteries cause severe injury when swallowed, including severe burns.

Those shiny small round items can be like “candy” to a baby and do severe damage, even result in death. It’s something many of us don’t think about, and don’t realize how much of a threat the small batteries can be. There is a responsible way to use batteries and still keep our children safe.

This is not meant to make any of us paranoid but awareness is KEY! Accidents happen when we least expect and we have hidden dangers in our home.
