Have you played the Cheer Instant win Game? First you have to
like them on Facebook. Then simply click the Dig In and Get it link. Simply watch their video and when you see the Cheer logo click on it and if you get that image you will win a prize that will be mailed to you! Now the tricky thing about this game is that they don't launch the video with the prizes but once a day, each day I have tried to play the prizes were already claimed for that day! But awesome reader Bobbie has won a t-shirt and a pair of socks!! Let me know if you win!!
Here are Details:
THE VIDEO Whenever I click on something, the video freezes but nothing else happens.
Look for colored boxes that appear around certain items in the video, and click on those. Those are the items we’re giving away that day! If you click on a spot in the video that is not within a colored box, it will only pause the video. If you click on an item within a colored box, it should pause the video and open a new window where you can claim your prize. (note: if you’re clicking inside a box and the new window isn’t opening, check to see if your browser is blocking the pop-up windows)
I don’t see any of the colored boxes you’re talking about.
Colored prize boxes only appear once the giveway starts that day, and they will disappear soon after all the items are dug out. Try refreshing the YouTube page once the giveaway starts, and look closely because some of the boxes go by quickly! Also, a lot of people are joining in on the fun so stuff is going fast…once the colored boxes are all gone that means we’re all out. For a visual example of what the boxes look like,

The colored boxes go by too fast, I don’t have time to click on them.

Should annotations be turned on or off on the YouTube video?
Make sure annotations are visible. When you are on the YouTube video page, you should see a red or grey icon shaped like a comment/dialogue box on the bottom right of the video toolbar. This is how you set YouTube annotations to either "Show annotations" or "Hide annotations". The icon should be red, which means annotations are visible.
Does the giveaway work on mobile devices like phones or iPads?
Due to the new YouTube technology that makes this crazy-fun giveaway possible, the colored prize boxes don’t currently work on mobile devices. Try logging into a desktop or laptop somewhere and join in on the fun!
THE SWAG Every day when I watch the video all of the items have already run out.
There are a lot of people joining in on the fun; the game is on! If you aren’t finding a colored box in time, try showing up a little early next time, refreshing the video and then starting as soon as the giveaway begins. Remember that hints are posted on the Cheer FB page daily, so check it out and good luck!
How many items can I dig?
You can dig one item each day, so try to make sure you’re getting your favorite one! Visit our Facebook everyday for hints about the next giveaway!
How long will shipping take?
We know waiting for cool stuff isn't cool, so we'll ship your prize to you as quickly as possible. Expect shipping to take about 2 weeks from the day you won the prize.
THE REGISTRATION PROCESS I clicked on a prize but when I got to the next step the page wouldn’t load correctly.
We agree that page load errors are the pits! Sorry if that was frustrating for you. Since so many people are “digging stuff” at the same time, there are occasional load errors either on our servers or on Facebook. Our genius programmers tell us this can happen when the app’s servers cower in fear at the overwhelming number of people joining in on the fun. We’ve increased our bandwidth capacity (by a lot!) to help with this and will be working to do everything we can to avoid this wherever possible. (Also, we’ve heard from some people that refreshing their browser page a couple times has helped them get past the load issue.)
I got to the first prize page where you select size & color, but was never able to get to the next step where I enter my name and address. Did I actually win the item?
If you were not able to proceed to the next screen where you enter your contact info, then unfortunately your request did not successfully register. We can imagine that must be frustrating and have reprogrammed the app to make that more clear next time. Remember, we’re giving away prizes almost every day for the rest of this month, so good luck next time!
I entered my personal information, but then there was an error loading the next page. Did I actually win the item?
If your mailing info made it to our ultra-secure servers, you won the item! After submitting your info, you should have received a “Congrats” message on the next page. However, if you didn’t receive this message, that doesn’t necessarily mean it didn’t go through. If you had this issue and would like us to look into it for you, please
contact us; we’ll research whether or not your request was processed and let you know what we find out!
I wasn’t able to choose my size or shirt. What should I do?
If there isn’t an option to choose a size or color, that means others have already won those items. However, you can go back to the video and dig another item if others are still up for grabs that day! Also, we’ll keep posting hints about the other chances you’ll have to “dig and get” colorful prizes through Aug 29th!
Should I have received a confirmation email confirming that I won the item?
No, we aren’t sending out any boring, automatic confirmation emails. However, after submitting your info, you should have received a “Congrats” message on the next page telling you that you won and also mentioning the chance to win tickets to SXSW. If you didn’t receive that message and want to see if we received your info, please
contact us.
THE OTHER STUFF Does it matter which browser I use?
The YouTube video and Facebook app has been tested and should work properly on all major browsers (eg Firefox, Safari, Chrome, & IE). If you’re having difficulty and you think it might be the browser, check to make sure you have the latest version of that browser.
How long is this “Dig It. Get It” campaign going on?
We’re rockin’ this Monday – Saturday until August 29th and hope you’ll keep coming back to own color in a whole new way through our music video!
I won a free sample of Cheer. Will I be able to use that in my HE machine?
All Cheer samples contain our original (non-HE) stay-colorful formula to help keep your colors kickin'. Although we do have an HE stay colorful detergent, unfortunately the samples were not formulated for HE machines. We hope this isn't an inconvenience and suspect that some friends and neighbors might get a little free Cheer from some of you. :) Nothin' wrong with spreading a little Cheer to someone you know with a standard washing machine!
