Mega Swagbucks Friday

Don't forget you earn EXTRA Bucks on Fridays! If your having a hard time understanding swagbucks, let me know! I too was a little confused at first, but now so grateful as I've been able to order several gift card for gifts. Your points really start add up quickly!!

What is Swag Bucks?

Swag Bucks is a search engine that offers you the chance to win cool prizes every time you do an internet search. It works like Google- actually it is powered by Google! So, if you know how to do a Google Search you won't have any problems using Swag Bucks for your internet searches.

What are Swag Bucks?
Swag Bucks are a type of virtual currency (like frequent flyer miles). The more you search the internet, the more you'll earn. They are awarded randomly and the amounts vary. Some searches will win you $0, others will win you $10, $20, $30 or more in Swag Bucks.

Redeeming Your Swag Bucks?
You can cash your Swag Bucks in at the Swag Store for all kinds of cool prizes: Gift Cards (Starbucks, PayPal, Target, Barnes & Noble, i-Tunes & more), Electronics, Apparel and more. Personally, I always choose to purchase the Amazon Gift e-Cards with my SwagBucks.(A $5 Amazon e-Card will cost you 450 SwagBucks.)

When you go to the Swag Store, the prize categories are listed, and within each category you will see the Swag Price of each prize. Once you have enough Swag Bucks to redeem the prize you want, you just select your prize and confirm your personal info (email address, shipping address etc.) Then a confirmation email will be sent to your in box. Just open the email, click on the confirmation link and within 7-14 days your prize will post to your account. Once it posts, you will be able to redeem your e-Gift Card immediately. If you choose a physical "plastic Gift Card" or another "physical" prize- just check your mail box- it should arrive within a couple weeks unless otherwise indicated.

Ways to Earn
There are several ways to earn Swag Bucks- the easiest way is for your internet searches. Let say you wanted to search for "My Memphis Mommy". You would type My MemphisMommy in the search bar and it would bring up the possible sites. Sometimes you will not earn anything for your search and other times you will earn Swag Bucks. It is random.

When you earn Swag Bucks for your Internet searches those are automatically credited to your account as long as you are signed in. If you are not signed in, a box will pop up asking that you sign in so you can claim your prize.

There are other ways to earn Swag Bucks such as, doing special offers, shopping, and referring your friends. Those information and links are all on the Swag Bucks home page. Once you have figured out the meat and potatoes of using Swag Bucks, you can click on the links to find other creative ways to earn more Swag Bucks.

Swag Bucks Tool Bar
I highly recommend that you download and use the Free Swag Bucks Tool Bar, otherwise you will have to return to the Swag Bucks Home Page every time you want to do a search that could earn you Swag Bucks (which will get tedious). Once you download the tool bar, it will be conveniently located below your address bar for easy access.

Another perk to adding the Swag Bucks Tool Bar is the Swag Codes released on the tool bar from time to time. These codes are time sensitive. Once you find the code, just copy the code and go to the Swag Bucks Home Page. Then paste the code in to the box that says "Swag Code" then hit the "GIMME" button. If you have entered a valid code before it expires the Swag Bucks will be added to your account. These Swag Codes vary in amounts; however, once you enter an accepted code it will let you know the amount you have earned for entering the code.

My Swag Bucks
People always ask me how much I earn. Everyone is different. It depends on how much you do. I say I am pretty middle-of-the-road. (but I am a blogger so I am on the internet a lot)

So if you are interested in earning Free Stuff just head over HERE and sign up today!

Amy founder of My Memphis Mommy and owner/founder of My Music City Mommy is the one that introduced me to Swagbucks and provided all the info above! Thanks Amy I love earning gift cards for doing on-line searches!

Craft Idea from a Reader

Thanks so much to Dawn Curtis awesome Memphis Mommy reader who sent me this great idea for a VBS craft! Do you have any craft ideas to share(please e-mail me)? This is a great one!!!

With Summer fast approaching, Vacation Bible School planning is well under way. For all those who are looking for frugal crafts for a large number of kids, here is a good one: Colored Sand Art!
Colored sand can be used to fill empty water bottles for decoration. It can also be sprinkled over glue to make creative pictures! Buying enough colored sand for a day care center or a large VBS group can be very costly; however, with a little bit of time you can make it much cheaper! A few years ago I made colored sand for my church's family camp. Turns out that what I thought was enough for one year is actually enough for several years!! This is how I did it:
What you need:
1 empty paint bucket with lid,er color (I bought pickle buckets from Firehouse Subs for $2 ea. ...yep, the sand STILL smells like pickles!!)
3 or more colors of RIT dye (liquid in the bottle preferably)
A few large waterproof tarps or dropcloths
Lots of Sand (For best results, buy 1 bag of playground sand per color at Lowes for around $2.50 per bag)... since I was being really cheap, I bought building sand from a local contractor. It was like $5 for all the sand I needed, but there were tiny rocks in the sand.
***Do this all outside of your home, not inside***
  1. In each bucket pour one bottle of dye and add water to fill the bucket 1/4.
  2. Add sand to fill the bucket almost full.
  3. Add more water until it is about 2 inches above the sand.
  4. Put the lid on the bucket.
  5. Do this for each color you are making.
  6. Let the buckets sit for a couple of days.
  7. Drain each bucket by dumping as much colored water as possible out.
  8. Then dump the wet sand out onto a tarp.
  9. Rake the sand out so it is spread evenly over the tarp.
  10. Rake the sand a couple times for the next day until it is completely dried out.
  11. Put dry sand back into it's bucket.
Done! In the meantime, have people save their empty water bottles for you so you can fill them with sand. You can find really cheap funnels online - usually on Oriental Trading's website. Also, if you are able to save the remaining liquid from the sand you might be able to mix the left overs to make other colors. Finally, if you do not need a lot of each color of sand you can do this in plastic gladware with lids ... using less sand per bottle of dye will give you a more vibrant color when it's all done.
**One more idea: If you are planning to tye-dye shirts anyway, you can use the left over dye to dye sand!! That's a 2-for-1!!

THANK YOU DAWN!!!!
