Make sure to download all the eCoupons to your Kroger card. It's easy and can save you lots of money. Just visit Cellfire, Shortcuts, SoftCoin & Upromise. eCoupons can be stacked with a manufacturer coupon, but will not double. This varies location to location as Kroger is slowly implementing new policies. Be sure and use the coupon database to look up other products you need but don't see in the sale ad and see if there is a coupon for it.

As Justin’s fame rises, do your responsibilities as a mom change at all?
The responsibilities change somewhat, and I have to adapt as a mom. For instance, I can’t ground him if he misbehaves. I have to be creative – taking away privileges like computers and phones. My bottom line responsibilities are to keep him safe and grounded. That means I need to discipline him when he needs it – in whatever way works.

How does it feel as a mom to see your son achieve so much success and accomplish his dreams?
I am so proud, and so happy for him. As a mom, it’s amazing and emotional to watch your child achieve his dreams and such a high level of success. Anyone would be thrilled to be in his position. I burst with joy for him. Of course, there are concerns; but for him, I am thrilled.

As we begin a new year, what is something you wish for Justin?
For 2011, I want Justin to continue to follow his dreams, to continue to shoot for the moon. I don’t want him to think that anything is unachievable.

Each mom is kind of programmed to worry about her kids. What are your biggest concerns for Justin?
Because he has so many people catering to him, my biggest concern is keeping him grounded. I remind him constantly that he is no better than anyone else. My worry is that he might mistake all the manufactured things around him for reality.

Sounds like being mom to an international pop sensation isn’t really all that different (except for the world travel, screaming fans, and red carpet galas) from being anyone else’s mom. In the end, each mom just wants her child to be happy, healthy, grounded, and fulfilled.

Understanding the Kroger Receipt and Getting the Most Out of a Mega Sale

Do you ever have difficulty understanding the Kroger Receipt? I sure do! Here are some tips.

I always recommend frequent shopping rather than large once a month shopping. Y0u will find better manager specials and it is easier to keep up with what you have spent/saved. I know this is not always possible but still it is the best way to save. The abbreviations for the actual products are really crazy (in my opinion)! But if you take some time to really try to figure it out, it will make more sense! I am happy to help!

JUST SOME KROGER BASICS

• 10 for $10 Sales you do not have to buy 10 products, you can just buy one and get it for $1.00
  
• BOGO SALE, you do not have to buy 2 products, you can just buy one and get it for half the price, usually this will get you a better deal.
• Any Sale of 2 for $6.00, 2 for $4.00 etc. you only have to buy one.

During a Mega Event, you will need to buy the quantity that they indicate to get the $ amount off at the end. Currently there is the Game Day Great Mega Event which will continue till the 8th!! Woo-Hoo! I suggest keeping all those items together, so you can watch and look back over your receipt.

If you buy any of the same item it will indicate it with 2 @ 10/10.00.

Any item in the Mega Event will appear with [+] PC and then the Regular Price beside it,
Once you have 10 of those then at the end the Mega Event $5 off will appear. Any time you see PC it means price card. I highly recommend registering your price card on-line @ Kroger.com so you can down-load coupons, play their instant win game etc!!

On the left hand side of the receipt you may see these abbreviations:

SC=scanned coupon, this is for Kroger Coupons
MC=manufactor's coupon
SC OP= scanned coupon operator over ride when your cashier has to over ride the coupon because it didn't come off correctly
SC MO= scanned coupon manager over ride, when a manager comes over to help
MC OP= scanned coupon operator over ride, same as above
MC MO= scanned coupon manager over ride, same as above

The amount you are charged is in the column, the bold under it is what your saving with your Plus Card. Do note that in the Mega Event the regular prices shows and then the $5.00 is deducted.

How do I get my coupons to double? This is the most frequent question we get asked, simply use your Kroger plus card and the register takes care of the rest ;0) it will appear like this

At the end all of your coupons show MC SCANNED COUPON for a regular coupon
BONUS COUPON will be the identical amount for coupons up to $.60 as Kroger doubles their coupons.

I give my coupons at the end. I always try to hand my coupons in order of the products were scanned so I can then tell that the correct amount has come off. I stop right at the register and quickly look over my receipt.

The receipt at the bottom breaks your savings into:
MFG CPN SAVINGS: Manufactor Coupon Savings
BONUS CPN SAVINGS: Any double coupons you got
STR CPN SAVINGS: Any store coupon savings including the $5.00 off

Please note if you get a Manager's Special item , fond on a Manger's Special shelf or marked down produce or meat the price appears as if it is a regular priced item, so be sure and look at the product when you get home and see what the regular price was, normally it is on the ORANGE tag and add that to your total savings as this is not reflected on the receipt!

Be careful what you buy in a Mega Event Sale, as this is 10 items! If you find yourself short an item form reaching your ten, go grab a can of Del Monte veggies for this weeks sale after the deduction only $.50 woo-hoo wish there was a current Del Monte coupon but oh well!

An item to not miss is the Garden of Eatin Organic chips (huge variety to choose from). I bought this product to make my husband try it ;0) With the deduction, only $1.49, I had a printable coupon$1.00/1 (still available must sign up for their newsletter) $.49 for a 9 oz bag of organic chips!! WOW!!

Another hint, save those Catalinas!!! (the coupon that sometimes prints off with your receipt!) I had one for $2.00/1 Kleenex box. While it advertised a higher product (Kleenex with sneeze shield) I chose the Kleenex with the most tissues in it, 200 count which with the Mega event was $1.29, guess what the entire $2.00 was taken off!

With the Kroger Mega Event Savings and my Manufactor coupons, I paid:
$7.96

I was asked by 39dollarglasses.com to do a review of their glasses. Slight problem, no one in my family wears glasses! I asked my sweet friend and avid Memphis Mommy reader, Katrina Hicks if she would do this review for me and she obliged! Here is her review:

Don't you dread going to the optical center and shelling out hundreds of dollars for new prescription eyewear? I know I do. I was excited to hear about a company called 39dollarglasses.com. The company was developed by eye doctors to create an inexpensive method for people to acquire high quality, finished prescription eyeglasses online. From their experience in both private offices and retail establishments, the founders decided they could provide this service for people inexpensively, bypassing expensive retail establishments.

39 Dollar Glasses use the same high quality materials you get in your local optical stores, but they can offer them at a discount because of their high volume, since they don't have the additional overhead constraints (such as retail rent space, behind-the-counter employees, and expensive displays) that your doctor's office or optical must overcome. Since operating the website is much less expensive than a typical retail establishment, they are able to pass these savings on to the general public online. Do you absolutely love the frames you have now, but your prescription has changed? The website also allows you to send in your current frames and they will replace the lenses!

They unconditionally guarantee all their frames and lenses to be delivered exactly as they were ordered and free of defects. They offer a flexible spending account approved and have a A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau.

I was provided with $100 gift certificate from 39glasses.com to purchase glasses of my choice to try and review. I chose the Anaheim frames priced at $39, I did upgrade my lenses to Transitions VI CR-39 ($49.90) since I would normally use eyeglasses with sunglass clips. The Average Retail on my glasses was $285 and my cost at 39dollarglasses.com was only $88.90. That's a savings of $196.10! If you choose Anti-reflective Coating, that is almost always recommended by your optometrist, it is $24.95 (Avg Retail $50-75).

I placed my order on a Wednesday afternoon and received my glasses in one week. With my order, I received a scratch-resistant coating, UV protection, Hard case, cleaning cloth and eyeglass screwdriver keychain at no additional cost. The glasses are nice and fit pretty well 'out-of-the-box'. I did adjust the nose and ear pieces to help them fit better.

So here are my opinions about the site and products:
#1 Using the internet to pick out glasses can pose a challenge. It is nice to walk into a store and actually try on the frames. The website tries to help you out as much as possible in this area. They offer photos of people wearing the frames. You can pick the gender and face shape. You can also print out an image of the eyewear at actual size.
#2 You need to enter your own eyeglasses prescription. This can be obtained from your optometrist. You also have to know, or be able to measure, your Pupillary Distance. I recommend two options: Have a friend or spouse measure it or visit your friendly Optical store and see if they will do it for you. This measurement is taken in Millimeters and needs to be precise for your eyeglasses to be accurate.
#3 The end result is a quality product at a fantastic price. There is no way I could have gone to the store and purchased these frames and transitions lenses for under $100. There are nearly 150 different frames to choose from priced at $39.
