My Memphis Mommy: Summer Kids Consignment: Consigning Clothes

I discovered Summer Kids Consignment Shop over a year ago and it is now the only consignment shop I go too, I LOVE IT! I bought some incredible NAME BRAND, LIKE NEW Maternity clothes for $3.75 and tons of things for my kiddos. Well now the time has come to sell my maternity clothes and a few baby things we don't need. I have NEVER CONSIGNED BEFORE. I know many people here do the big consignment sales here and GET TONS OF MONEY, but I know they spend a TON OF TIME preparing for it, which I just currently don't have. Summer Kids TAKE ALL THE WORK OUT OF IT FOR YOU, which is exactly what I need right now! If you are consigning clothes for money only then this might not be the best option for you, I was consigning as I wanted my closet back, wanted store credit where I could just go and get things as I need it, I had no expectations of coming away with a ton of cash.

All I did was simply take the items I wanted to consign in a box and drop it off at the store and then went and got my offer on another day. Sure I didn't get a TON OF MONEY for my stuff but I wore these maternity clothes THREE DIFFERENT BABY times and many of them I bought at a discount! I took store credit as this is a place I shop at often for my eldest (don't need any clothes for the younger ones). I totally wasn't expecting much $$ for the stuff as I see how low the prices are in the store, so I consider more a "swap" in one sense.
Of course there is always the option of a yard sale or Craig's list but again takes time, time, time.
I also like Summer Kids as it is a locally owned business by an awesome mom Deborah who has HIGH STANDARDS for the clothing/items she wants, I trust her and feel good doing business with her.

We offer next day service. Drop off your items today and return the next day for cash or store credit.
You can bring in your quality children's items anytime the store is open. We will review all items for stains, wear and tear and current style. All items we wish to pass on will be returned to your container. For all items accepted, we will give you cash or store credit on the spot.
No waiting for the item to sell.

Children's clothing — Preemie to Size 14
Children's shoes- up to size 2
Furniture including cribs, changing tables and gliders
Equipment including strollers, high chairs, swings and walkers

What we don't accept

Car seats
Breast pumps
Any recalled item
Any item that does not meet current government safety standards
Any item that is torn, dirty, stained, faded or missing parts
Clothing must be freshly laundered, with no fading, stains, tears, missing buttons or smoke odor.

We do not accept clothing in garbage bags. Please bring your items neatly organized in a tub, bin or laundry basket. We have a 2-bucket limit (18-gallon size bucket). We cannot accept more clothing than this at one time. Furniture and equipment does not count towards limit.
Do you only accept items during certain times?
Items can be dropped off any time the store is open. We will review the order and have it ready for you the next day. You have 3 days to pick up your order and decide if you would like to accept our offer.
