Did you know you can make your own fortune cookies at home? We have a tradition since we were engaged of making fortune cookies together! It is SIMPLE and FUN! You just have to figure out your oven time to get the right amount of crisp! Here is the recipe below let me know if you have any questions!!

Ingredients:
1 Egg White
1/4 cup Sugar
1 Tablespoon Water
2 Tablespoons of Butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon Vanilla
1/3 cup Flour

Directions:

First write out some fortunes and have them folded up and ready to go, this recipe will make around 12 cookies! I usually double the recipe!

Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees

  1. Put egg white and sugar in a small bowl. Add water, butter and vanilla and mix together
  2. Add flour and stir.
  3. Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheets. Swirl the batter around with a spoon back until cookies are spread very thin and are almost transparent.
  4. Bake 5-7 minutes or until LIGHTLY browned edges appear. ( My current oven takes 8 1/2 minutes yours could even be less than 5 minutes you just have to watch and play around until you figure it out)
  5. Remove the cookies quickly and WORK FAST!
  6. Place a fortune in the cookie and fold cookie in half, then half again to shape like a fortune cookie! I usually only make 4 at a time!!
Let cool!! And enjoy! These work great if you make them a day or a few days before and give them more time to harden! Store in an air tight container! For added flair you could melt chocolate and dip them!
