HERNANDO PICNIC AND PARADE
This Independence Day event is geared just for kids. Help your child deck out his or her scooter, bicycle, or tricycle in red, white, and blue and bring them down to Hernando for a parade around the town square. Free refreshments and a movie will follow. The event begins at 7:00 p.m..

JULY 3rd
BARTLETT FIREWORKS
This celebration will be held at Bobby K. Flaherty Municipal Center at Highway 79 and Appling Road from 6:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and will include live music, family activities, a car show, and food vendors. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.

COLLIERVILLE FIREWORKS
This is Collierville's 25th annual 4th of July celebration featuring entertainment, food, games, and an exciting fireworks display. The event will be held at H.W. Cox Park located at 350 W. Powell Road in Collierville from 5:30 p.m. -- 9:30 p.m., when the fireworks will begin.

The Red, White, and Blues Celebration will be held at Handy Park on Beale Street and will include food, music, and entertainment. The festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at approximately 10:00 p.m.

GERMANTOWN
Outstanding musical entertainment, games, moon bounces and crafts provide the early evening fun, followed by a fabulous fireworks display. The free event is Sunday, July 4, at Municipal Park on Exeter Road. Activities begin at 5 p.m. with fireworks at 9:10 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, call 751-KNOW (5669) for event status. OLIVE BRANCH
The Annual July 4th "Celebrate Your Independence" event at the Olive Branch City Park will begin at 5:00 p.m. Bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy food, games, and fun!

SOUTHHAVEN
This year's celebration will be held at Snowden Grove Park. There will be live music, a fabulous fireworks display, and fun for the entire family! The fireworks display will begin at dusk.

Cordova Independence Day Parade-July 3rd 9:30 a.m.

I live in Cordova and am partial toward the sweet small town events like the one coming up tomorrow. My kids loved watching "the parade" of kids in wagons etc and catch candy. It is very small and completely a family feel. So if you live nearby and enjoy little events like this see ya tomorrow ;0)
This Saturday July 3rd is The Cordova Community Center’s Independence Day Celebration & Parade!!!

The Patriotic Program begins at 9:30am honoring Colonel Bobby F. Cole (Ret). The historic Cordova Community Center is located at located at 1017 North Sanga Road.

Shelby County Sheriff Mark H. Luttrell will serve as Grand Marshall and Master of Ceremonies.

Invocation - Dr. Richard S. Hipps, Pastor, Trinity Baptist Church.

Flag Raising - Color Guard, Boy Scout Troop #322, Covenant United Methodist Church.

Pledge of Allegiance - Cordova VFW Post #4313

National Anthem

The Parade will follow beginning at approximately 9:50am. (If you are participating in the parade, please be there by 9am.)

Awards will also be given for the following categories:

Recipe Idea: Berry Shortcake Stars

Betty Crocker has so many great recipes, here is festive one for the weekend.

4 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons baking powder
2 teaspoons salt
2/3 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups milk
2 packages (4-serving size each) vanilla instant pudding and pie filling mix
4 cups milk
4 cups raspberries
1 cup blueberries

1. Heat oven to 450ºF. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Cut in shortening, using pastry blender or crisscrossing 2 knives, until mixture looks like fine crumbs. Stir in 1 1/2 cups milk just until blended.
2. Place dough on lightly floured surface. Gently smooth into a ball. Knead 20 to 25 times. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut into 10 stars with floured 3-inch star-shaped cutter. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Make pudding mix as directed on package for pudding, using 4 cups milk. Split warm shortcakes. Fill and top shortcakes with pudding, raspberries and blueberries.

Redbirds Independence Festivities

Redbirds Ready to Celebrate Independence Day Weekend Series

FESTIVITIES INCLUDE A TEAM SET GIVEAWAY AND FIREWORKS

If you are looking for special things to do with the kids and the family, Redbirds game is a great option! The first 1,500 fans through the gates on Friday will receive a team set of Redbird trading cards presented by DiGiorno. Fans can also play Waste Management Launch-A-Ball after the game with proceeds benefiting the RBI and STRIPES programs. Game time is 7:05pm.

Saturday’s 6:05pm game celebrates Independence Day with a Salute to Armed Forces Night and post-game fireworks presented by USO Banking, only at Bank of America. Show any military ID (active duty, retired or dependent) at the box office and receive $1 off gameday ticket prices. Pregame ceremonies include a game ball delivery by the 101^st Airborne Army Screaming Eagles Parachute Team. There will also be a special naturalization ceremony where approximately 50 candidates will be sworn in as American citizens. The first 4,000 fans through the gates will receive fireworks prism glasses courtesy of Golf & Games.

The Redbirds are also offering a special Independence Day Special Package for Saturday. Fans will receive a club level ticket and access to an all-you-can-eat buffet from 5pm-7pm for $37.

CSN On-line Shopping Review and Giveaway

I have never been a big on-line shopper but since my husband has been gone over 40 days for his job, I have become an avid on-line browser and shopper. The final piece I wanted to comment on is this Triach lighting kaleidoscope flush mount which features inlaid grape jewels in bronze, I love Italian and European pieces and I think this would be perfect in a dining room or even a study.
