Lead Poisoning Awareness

The Ad Council, Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) would like to spread the word about the dangers of lead poisoning for children, and encourage parents to take the first step to help eliminate childhood lead poisoning.

LeadFreeKids.org is a new site that provides tips to learn more about how to eliminate childhood lead poisoning and offers action plans. You can also find additional information on their Facebook page where you can share your thoughts and experiences with other parents as well as connect with them on Twitter.

Starlight Spectacular-Bellevue June 27th

Bring a picnic and flock to the lawn of Bellevue Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. -- 10:00 p.m. for an Independence Day celebration. The Starlight Spectacular will feature Mandisa (from American Idol) and Matthew West, patriotic music from the Bellevue Orchestra, games for the kids, food vendors, and fireworks. Al Roker In Memphis with Lending a Hand

I (Shana) avidly watch Action News 5 every morning to know what's going on here in the Mid-South, check the weather out for the day, and guess what I discovered this morning? Al Roker is coming to Memphis today with Lend a Hand on The Today Show. This week AL Roker will be going to 5 cities to bring needed supplies to a local charity of his choosing! I am THRILLED he is coming to Memphis! I can't wait to find out which charity has been chosen! Which charity do you think it will be, make comments below!

He will be on Action News 5 tonight at 5 p.m. and the BIG REVEAL of the chosen charity will be tomorrow morning on the Today Show (starts at 7:00 a.m.).
