BEWARE FAKE OFFERS

Links provided in this post may be from affiliate programs which earns My Memphis Mommy a small commission. Thanks for clicking!

Hey wonderful Memphis Mommy Readers! I (Shana) have been really disturbed since yesterday as there turned out to be 2 offers one from facebook, the Pringles Extreme and then the Ginnero chocolate offer that BOTH HAVE TURNED OUT TO BE FAKE!!

Here’s what you need to do to protect yourself specifically from this Pringles Extreme Application…
* Log into your Facebook Account
* Click on Account (top right corner)
* Click on Application Settings
* Scroll down the list and find “Pringles Extreme”; click on the “x” to permanently remove it from the application page; be sure to hit the “remove” button and the “okay” button. Pringles Extreme will no longer have access to your data and will be removed from your profile and bookmarks.

Please know that we work VERY hard to ensure that all the samples and freebies posted on My Memphis Mommy are from legitimate companies.We receive tons of emails for new sample offers and freebies on a weekly basis and only end up posting only a few of them after we check them out.
I gave out my personal info for each of these offers too, this is the first time I have had this happen, it seems a ton of us bloggers got fooled on this one. We are extremely sorry!!
With Facebook offers, especially, there is always a sort of urgency to hurry and post the offer before it has expired as freebies are usually limited to a small number of people. We will be much more vigilant in the future and I hope facebook will also help protect us all from this kind of fraud.

On all future offers we promise not to get rushed to “Hurry up and post em’ before they are gone” offers; instead I will take that extra little bit of time to verify the legitimacy of the offer, although, I can’t guarantee that I will always be right. I also urge all of you to spend those extra few seconds reviewing an offer to be sure that you are comfortable sharing your personal information. Please don’t let this Pringles and Ginnero offer ruin your whole outlook on freebies/samples… there are many legitimate companies out there who provide great opportunities to try their products at no cost and will do our best to find those for you! Thanks so much for accepting our apology and for those of you who helped give the head's up to us!

That is so frustrating! I really usually avoid the Facebook ones because they so often turn out to be fake. But I did it because I just knew you guys wouldn't steer me wrong. I appreciate the fast recall notice though. That helps.

I still trust you. :)

Thanks so much for being proactive and posting to let us know the situation (and how to delete the Pringles thing on facebook). Although we hope situations like these never happen, it is nice to see that you guys will step up and fill us in on what is going on. Thanks again for ALL the hard work you put in to pass on great deals on to my family!

I called Pringles as on their FB status it is promoting the xtreme offer. Their facebook page has been hacked into so I am hoping they can fix it soon. Thanks for understanding guys! We will be more vigilant!
