$10 for Two Strength and Conditioning Classes at River Workout

Having originated as an indoor class held at a local YMCA, River Workout has moved outdoors, inspiring fitness-minded Memphibians to literally get in touch with nature by touching plants and other things found in nature alongside the scenic riverfront. The hour-long classes are taught by personal trainer and Memphis native Stacy Chick, who will guide you through stretches, strength and agility exercises, cardiovascular training, and building core strength through the time-honored art of human origami. Fitness assessments, nutritional plans, and boot-camp-success guides are provided as well. The thrice-weekly workouts are structured to work within the fitness levels of each member of the group and offer a motivating, team-oriented environment and a disciplined boot-camp experience, as well as gorgeous views of the mighty Mississippi.

Classes take place in Wolf River Trails on Saturday mornings at 10:00, barring inclement weather (Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. are coming soon), and classes take place in Greenbelt Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:00 a.m. Students are required to bring dumbbells, mats for abdominal exercises and fitness naps, and a signed waiver to class.
